Peak Season Shipping is Almost Upon Us

September brings more adjustments as carriers begin to head into a challenging peak season with a bad economy. Carriers have begun to scale up the adjustments and it appears that a large majority of them are incorrect, costing shippers thousands that they are not even aware of.

Ship Watchers is proud of the adjustments we have collected for our clients.  These adjustments are totally 100% our clients (shippers) that were inaccurately billed by the shipping carriers.

Now that the 2009 peak season shipping is moving up on us, we have reports showing a large increase in inaccurate adjustments for shippers just in September 2009.  Our staff have even spoke to shipping carrier hub auditors that have lofty goals for the peak season to increase the amount of adjustments placed on packages.  We make it a point to stay in contact with the shipping carriers on all levels.  It helps us be pre-pared for what the shipping carriers might complete over the next months.

More than ever this peak season needs to be monitored in full force.  Our network has stored several years of peak season data, residential vs. commercial address information, zonal by area (government deemed zones – business or residential) and much more.

With the volume entering the carrier’s shipping hub within this peak season time frame and new “seasonal” workers added on for the holidays shipper’s freight invoices will reflect more adjustments and additional charges added on for inaccurate adjustments.  Most of these adjustments you would not know unless you tracked each and every shipment, check the delivery location and matched it back to the invoice that it was billed on.  Unless you have access to a proof of address source to insure correct address corrections, residential vs. commercial corrections, delivery area surcharges and more.

This 2009 peak season insure that you have a shipping auditor on your side.  Ship Watchers is one of the most advanced shipping auditors out there in the market today.
